Morning In The Long Night |

BOOK
REVIEW by David Roy This lovely
work by Peggy Aylsworth Levine reminded me of a line from The Duino Elegies.
"For beauty is nothing but the beginning of terror, that we are still
able to bear, and we revere it so, because it calmly disdains to destroy
us." The writer evokes through Rachel's eyes, as well as those of
her close friends, the often terrifying but beautiful uncertainty we all
face, wandering through the restless, conscious-stirring hours before
our own private dawns, longing for that break of clarity, yet fearing
what pain and revelations await. |
