JACOB JONAS THE COMPANY

Los Angeles-based JACOB JONAS THE COMPANY will appear in a dance recital at The Wallis Annenberg Center for the Performing Arts on January 13. The Company has toured North America since its formation in 2016, bringing a mix of contemporary ballet and acrobatic movement to stages in New York, Vancouver and Jacob’s Pillow Inside/Out Dance Festival.

“When Jacob Jonas The Company performs, energy doesn’t just seem to bounce off the walls, it reverberates off bodies,” said the L.A. Times.

The program at The Wallis includes “In A Room On Broad St.”(2014), “f l y” (World Premiere), “Grey” (World Premiere/Film) and “Obstacles” (2016).

Jacob Jonas The Company (JJTC) is a 21st century dance ensemble with a focus on creating works both for a live audience and for the camera. JJTC produces visceral, original pieces based on real-life situations, relationships, and storytelling that relates to audiences on a personal level. Through a collaborative choreographic process, casting that emphasizes diversity and life experience, plus the singular creative vision of Jacob Jonas, JJTC performances provide a mirror that allows audiences to examine their own lives.
