JACOB JONAS THE COMPANY
After its sold-out run in 2016/17, JACOB JONAS THE COMPANY will return
to the Wallis Performing Arts Center on two separate occasions, one in
October, 2018; the other in May, 2019. JACOB JONAS is the company in residence
at The Wallis for its 2018/19 season.
On Oct. 24-27 JACOB JONAS will perform previously seen works in the Lovelace
Studio Theatre. On May 10-11 it will mount a world premiere in the Bram
Goldsmith Theatre.
The company, led by its dynamic namesake, is gaining international acclaim
for mixing contemporary ballet, break-dance and acrobatic movement with
compelling storytelling, visceral performances and cutting-edge content
creation, including the Cameras and Dancers visual arts movement featuring
monthly location-specific “instameets.”
The company
was named one of “12 standout companies of 2018" by La Times
and “25 to watch” by Dance Magazine.
