BODYTRAFFIC
L.A.'s critically
acclaimed BODYTRAFFIC returns to the Wallis Annenberg Center for the Performing
Arts as the 2019/2020 company-in-residence, launching its residency with
the world premiere of LA-based choreographer Michaela Taylor's "Snap,"
inspired by James Brown, the "Godfather of Soul." Performances
are Sept. 26-28 at 7.30 pm in the Bram Goldsmith Theater.

BODYTRAFFIC will also present the U.S. premiere of psycho-dance-drama
"(d)elusive minds" by Nederlands Dans Theatre 2's artistic director,
Fernando Hernando Magadan; the West Coast premiere of "Resolve,"
by duo Wewold, which is comprised of b-boy influencer Rubberlegz and dancemaker
James Gregg; and a reprise performance of Matthew Neenan's "A Million
Voices," which had its world premiere at The Wallis in 2018.
"BODYTRAFFIC, widely respected around the globe, has helped put L.A.'s
vibrant and thriving dance scene on the map," said The Wallis' Artistic
Director, Paul Crewes. "The Wallis will be spotlighting the distinctive
artistic depth and breadth of thisincrediblt versatile company during
its residency this season." He also noted that "The Wallis'
dance programming features L.A.-based companies exclusively, marking the
first time a major Southern California performing arts venue has presented
an all-local dance lineup during a single season."

The world premiere of Invertigo Dance Theatres FORMULAE & FAIRY
TALES will take place at the Broad Stage in Santa Monica, Sept. 13 &
14 at 7.30 pm.
FORMULAE
& FAIRY TALES casts the life of Alan Turing, mathematical genius and
WW II code-breaker, into the Technicolor and mythologized ideas of his
favorite film, Disneys Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs,
placing the world of mathematics, artificial intelligence and cryptograph
onto a vivid, twisted fairy-tale palette.
