Ebony Repertory Theatre's Dance@theHolden is proud to present JazzAntiqua
Dance and Music Ensemble as part of our 2019-20 dance season. The unfortunate
circumstances we are facing due to COVID-19, have afforded us the opportunity
to bring this concert to you via YOUTUBE. This allows Ebony Repertory
Theatre to extend this presentation beyond one evening of dance and beyond
the boundaries of the physical structure! Enjoy the dance!
JazzAntiqua Dance and Music Ensemble, under the artistic direction of
Pat Taylor, is a beacon of inspiration and excellence in the California
dance scene, specifically in Los Angeles. Ms Taylor has curated this evening
of dance specifically for Dance@theHolden.
Chroegrapher's Statement:
These nine works are a varied sampling of my vision and passion as a jazz
choreographer. They embody through movement what is at the heart of the
jazz music tradition as I experience and interpret it - a language birthed
as a distinct expression giving voice to the Black experience in America.
