BLUE 13 DANCE COMPANY

The Wallis will present a dance recital May 12-13 by the BLUE 13 DANCE COMPANY, an ensemble focusing on "The intersections of Diaspora and disruption."

Led by Achinta D. McDaniel, Blue 13 employs a powerful specter of joy and resistance through rythm, Bollywood and emotional expression. The company "rejects monolithic representations of Indianness and contemporaneity and reveals complexities intrinsic to South Asian and intersectional identities through provocative and boundary-expanding works."
   

   
The company will premiere a new work as well as "Restless Autumn, Restless Spring" and excepts from other works.
