IMAGE FEST 2004

SANTA MONICA -- Young, undiscovered filmmakers wishing to premiere their short works should contact Image Fest as the 2004 "Evening of Short Films" festival will take place August 9 at the Egyptian Theatre in Hollywood (one day only).

Last year at the first Image Fest thirteen short films selected from over fifty submissions were presented to over three hundred members. All featured directors were introduced live and on-screen by Image Fest's producers at the beginning of the show. Two prizes were awarded (at the neighboring Pig N' Whistle restaurant), with Doug Atchison, recipient of the 2000 Nichol Fellowship in Screenwriting, serving as one of the judges.

Image Fest conducts outreach programs in 24 schools and is looking to double that number in the next two years. It is also seeking sponsorship from interested companies and individuals.

Filmmakers with original short films, 30 mins. or less, are invited to apply at www.imagefestshorts. Download submission forms and check out the latest festival news.

Submitted films can be on MiniDV, DVcam, DVD or VHS. If your work is chosen, an exhibition print on either MiniDV or DVcam format will be required.

The fee for regular submissions is $25 (April 1 deadline). The fee for late submissions is $30 (May 1st deadline). Fees are payable by check or money order to Image Farm Productions. Submit work to: Image Fest, 2118 Wilshire Blvd, #376, Santa Monica, CA 90403-5784.

All work must be labeled with the filmmakers's name, address and phone number, and must include the application and the submission fee. Films will not be returned. Awards will be presented at the post-screening party. E-mail admin@imagefestshorts.com
