COSTA MESA, CA -- Orange County Performing Arts Center opens its new season in the Renee and Henry Segerstrom Concert Hall with THE MAGIC OF MOZART on Sept. 17. In collaboration with the Salzburg Festival, the performance celebrates the 250th anniversary of Mozart's birth with the Mozarteum Orchestra of Salzburg led by conductor Ivor Bolton. Special guests include pianists Louis Lortie and Angela Hewitt, and the North American debut of acclaimed German soprano Mojca Erdmann.

On October 10, the Philharmonic Society hosts the Kirov Orchestra for a performance of Shostakovich's Symphony No. 5 in D minor, Op. 47 as well as other works to be announced.
