Classical Music News for November/December 2006:


LOS ANGELES -- As part of its year-long program, "Days of Dresden," the Goethe-Institut (L.A.) and USC's Max Kade Institute for Austrian-German-Swiss Studies present an evening of music, celebrating composers who lived and worked in Dresden. The performance, which takes place on Sunday night, December 10 at 7.30 pm, features Renee Sousa (soprano), Mark Robson (piano) and members of the Los Angeles Opera orchestra.

The program includes works by Carl Maria von Weber, Richard Wagner, Robert Schumann and Tom Schnauber. The latter studied and worked in Dresden, where his song cycle "Funt Kleine Lieder" was first performed in 2004.
