THE MUSIC GUILD'S NEW SEASON

The Music Guild begins its 67th consecutive season of classical chamber music concerts on October 24th with the Carducci String Quartet.

No recession, great or small, has stopped this march of chamber music through the concert halls of Los Angeles. Nor has it abated the constant education in local area classrooms, as The Music Guild continues to provide concerts to school children in the inner city and at schools for autistic, learning disabled and gifted children. This past year, The Music Guild added concerts for assisted living facilities, as music has shown to bring comfort to its residents. The Music Guild believes that even though some people cannot get out and about, they should not be denied the joys associated with live concerts.

The Music Guild has moved to a new concert hall on Los Angeles' west side, locating in the University Synagogue, long the home its summer series of "Coffee, Cookies and Concerts". This location has the added benefit of free parking adjacent to the building. These west side concerts will be on Tuesdays this year, with the concerts at California State University, Long Beach moving to Monday nights in the Daniels Recital Hall. The concerts on Wednesdays at California State, Northridge remain unchanged at the Plaza del Sol Performance Hall.

Ensembles on this year's program include the Shanghai String Quartet in November, Carpe Diem String Quartet in February, Borromeo and Borealis String Quartets in March and the Enso String Quartet in April. Tickets are available from The Music Guild by phone at 310.558.3500 or on line at their website TheMusicGuild.org
