LE SALON
DE MUSIQUES NEW SEASON
LE SALON
DE MUSIQUES will launch its sixth season on October 4, 2015 at 4pm with
a performance of two pieces by Schubert and the U.S. premiere of Philipp
Sharwenkas String Quartet in D Minor Op. 117.

Produced, directed and organized by French-American concert pianist and
founding artistic director Francois Choucan, with co-artistic director
John Walz, LE SALON DE MUSIQUES has been called the essence and
the nectar of chamber music in L.A.
Inspired by Le Salon de Musique created by Queen Marie-Antoinette
in Versailles, and by the Sachubertiades created by Franz
Schubert in Vienna, LE SALON DE MUSIQUES is a unique musical experience,
one like no other in L.A. All concerts are performed on the 5th floor
of the Dorothy Chandler Pavilion, with the audience sitting close by the
musicians. A musicologist introduces each recital, followed by an informal
Q & A with the
musicians and a champagne buffet catered by Patina.
Concert No. 2 will take place on Sunday Nov. 8 at 4 pm. Featured are Elissa
Johnstone, soprano; Jessica Guideri, violin; Yi Zhou, viola; Jacob Braun,
cello; and Robert Thies, piano. The all-Strauss program will include Four
Last Songs for Soprano and Piano.
For information about the Dec. 6, 2015 and Jan. 10, 2016 concerts, visit

General admission $75; $35 students. Special earlybird tickets are available.
