The Hollywood
Bowl is back live this summer, with many musical tidbits to feast on.
They include:
A classic night of Beethoven on July 26. Gustavo Dudamel will conduct
the L.A. Philharmonic orchestras interpretation of the Emperor
Piano Concerto and the Fifth Symphony. Seong-Jin Cho
is the featured pianist.
On August 4, Paolo Bortolameoli will conduct The Splendor of Saint-Saens,
an evening of the composers highly melodic music. The program includes
Cello Concerto and the Organ Symphony. The cellist
is Pablo Ferrandez.
On August 18, Joseph Young will lead the L.A. Phil in an All-American
concert. Carlos Simons Portrait of a Queen employs the
orchestra and dramatic spoken word to trace Black history in America.
Davone Tines will perform songs by various American composers; the evening
will close with Coplands score for Billy the Kid.
