Chorales February attraction at Disney Hall is CHOOSE SOMETHING
LIKE A STAR. Named after a poem by Robert Frost, the concert features
music of aspiration and inspiration from Brahms and Schumann to Meredith
Monk and Michael Abels.
The date
is Sunday, Feb 12 at 7 pm.
Other composers
on the bill include Avo Part, Abbie Betinis and Georgia Stitt. Two world
premieres are included, by Matthew Brown and Diana Syrse.
Grant Gershon
conducts 62 singers, soloists, piano and percussion.

The Music
Guild continues its 78th season with chamber-music concerts by California
String Quartet on Feb. 13 at St. Albans Episcopal Church, 580 Hilgard
Avenue (at Westholme)in Westwood. The concert will begin at 8pm.
CSQ (Ben Fried, cello) will perform two works by Schubert: String Quartet
in D Minor (Death and the Maiden) and Cello Quintet
in C Major, Op. 16."

persons placard can park on Westholme.
