DAME EDNA: BACK WITH A VENGEANCE!

"Im baaaack, daahlings!"

Dame Edna, the self-styled "incomparable international housewife, superstar and guru" (played by Barry Humphries), returns to L.A. March 28-April 9. All performances are at the Ahmanson Theatre, 135 N. Grand Ave.

Dame Edna's new show includes her version of a reality show. Joining her onstage will be "The Gorgeous Ednaettes," scrumptious girl dancers in stunning costumes, as well as "The Equally Gorgeous TestEdnarones," a dishy duo of boy hoofers. Master of the Dame's music is Wayne Barker on keyboard.

iWITNESS AT THE TAPER

Noted Israeli playwright Joshua Sobol brings his explosive new drama iWITNESS to the Mark Taper Forum, April 9-May 21. Translated from the Hebrew by Sobol and Barry Edelstein (who also directs), the play deals with a man who died for his beliefs over 60 years ago.

Based on the true story of Franz Jaegerstatter, an Austrian farmer who was executed in Berlin in 1943 for his refusal to wear a Nazi uniform and serve in the army, the play takes place on Jaegerstatter's last day in prison when he is visited by friends and family who plead with him to relent.
