40's 2011/2012 SEASON
On Sept. 22nd, Theatre 40, the Beverly Hills-based rep company, will mount
the second play in its 2011/12 season, JIMMY AND SAM. Written by Michael
Rhodes, Pat Harrington, Jr. and Howard Storm, the comedy deals with the
relationship between two elderly men, one Irish, the other Jewish, who
have been friends for forty years. Tim Byron Owen, founding member of
the Celtic Arts Center, will direct the world premiere of JIMMY AND SAM.
Closing date is Oct. 23rd.
The other plays in Theatre 40's new season include: A BOUQUET OF ROSES
by Victor L. Cahn, THE COLOR OF ROSE by Kathrine Bates, DREAMS OF THE
WASHER KING by Christopher Wall, LAURA by Vera Caspary & George Sklar,
and (in May 2012) THE CIRCLE by Somerset Maugham. The National Theatre
poll lists THE CIRCLE as one of the best 100 plays of the 20th century.
