White

REVIEW by Willard Manus

WHITE, the award-winning play presented by the Scottish theatre company, Catherine Wheels, will continue through March 23 at the Lovelace Studio Theater (Wallis Annenberg Center for the Performing Arts).

WHITE has won numerous prizes at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival in recent years. In this offbeat comedy, children are invited into an all-white, enchanting world. Two friends, Cotton and Wrinkle, diligently look after a grove full of birdhouses, making sure that everything stays "bright, ordered and white." But when colors start to appear, things become truly magical.

Catherine Wheels Theatre Company was formed in 1999 by director Gill Robertson. Its productions have toured extensively in the UK, Europe and Asia. "White may be the only show that will remind you simultaneously of Teletubbies and Waiting for Godot," said the New York Times. Recommended for ages 2 to 5; running time is 35 minutes.
