Another new book aimed at movie makers and fans is THE FILM DIRECTOR PREPARES--A PRACTICAL GUIDE TO DIRECTING FOR FILM & TV, by Myrl A. Schreibman (a UCLA film school professor). This textbook tackles such topics as script selection and preparation, storyboarding and shot lists, camera coverage (four chapters' worth), conduct on the set, dealing with production designers and cinematographers. Schriebman is so thorough that he even advises on how to handle "bagel & lox meetings."
