The 2003-2004 series will commence on Oct. 27th at Cal State Northridge, with Romanian pianist Andre Banciu making his local debut with the Jacques Thibaud String Trio. The concert will be repeated on Oct. 28 at Cal State Long Beach and on Oct. 29 at Beverly Hills High School.

The Brahms Piano Trio will perform three concerts at Cal State Northridge (Dec. 8), Cal State Long Beach (Dec. 9) and Beverly Hills H.S. (Dec. 10). Ireland's Vanbrugh String Quartet will follow with three concerts at Cal State Northridge (Feb. 16), Cal State Long Beach (Feb. 17) and Beverly Hills H.S. (Feb. 18).

The Pacific String Quartet will follow at the above venues, March 1, 2 & 3; ditto the Ciompi String Quartet (in its L.A. debut) with cellist Ronald Leonard, April 19, 20 & 21.

The Music Guild also presents a chamber music series for children at the Cienaga Elementary School and also offers 30 chamber music concerts in four inner city elementary schools from October through June of each year. In 2002 the Guild initiated a program to acquire string instruments for needy young children who want to study. Full-sized instruments are donated to the Guild, repaired and sold to obtain funds to purchase smaller-sized new violins.
