ZUBIN MEHTA LEADS ISRAEL PHILHARMONIC

IN BENEFIT PERFORMANCE AT DISNEY HALL

LOS ANGELES -- Zubin Mehta and the Israel Philharmonic Orchestra will perform in L.A. for the first time since their sold-out concert three years ago. The December 10 concert is a benefit for the IPO and will take place at Walt Disney Concert Hall at 7 PM. The program includes Beethoven's Violin Concerto, featuring violinist Pinchas Zukerman, and will be followed by Stravinsky's Petrouchka.

The Dec. 10th concert inaugurates the IPO's 2003 U.S. tour, which commemorates the 55th anniversary of the State of Israel.

Gala festivities include dinner following the concert at the Disney's Impresario Restaurant. Honored will be philanthropists Edye and Eli Broad. Co-chairs for the event are Nancy and Zubin Mehta, Margo and Irwin Winkler, and Annette and Peter O'Malley.

ST. PETERSBURG CAPELLA CHOIR

LOS ANGELES -- Established in 1497 by Tsar Ivan III, the St. Petersburg Capella Choir has survived five centuries of wars, revolutions, sieges and famines to emerge as an enduring monument to Russian culture. In their time, the Tsars Ivan the Terrible and Peter the Great sang in the chorus, and Beethoven, Schumann and Berlioz all considered it to be the finest choir in the world.

The choir embarks on its U.S. debut tour in honor of the 300th anniversary of the city of St. Petersburg.

TALLIS SCHOLARS SING AT UCLA

LOS ANGELES -- Founded in 1973, the London-based Tallis Scholars are considered the leading a capella interpreters of Renaissance vocal music. The Scholars have performed around the globe in both secular and sacred venues, including the Sistine Chapel. Their unique sound was described by the Chicago Tribune as "an almost perfect blend, thrilling and otherworldly."
