March/April 2005 GLIMMERGLASS OPERA ANNOUNCES 2005 SEASON COOPERSTOWN, NY -- Glimmerglass Opera has announced the schedule for its 2005 Festival Season. A new production of Mozart's COSI FAN TUTTE heads the list. The production, shared with Opera North UK and New York City Opera, will be directed by Tim Albery, with sets & costumes by Tobias Hoheisel and lighting by David Finn. Soprano Anne-Sophie Duprels, in her Glimmerglass debut, will sing Fiordilgi. Mezzo-soprano Sandra Piques Eddy is Dorabella, tenor John Tessier is Ferrando, baritone Palle Knudsen is Guglielmo, mezzo-soprano Camille Zamora is Despina, and baritone Sanford Sylvan is Alfonso. Other scheduled productions include Donizetti's LUCIE de LAMMERMOOR (directed by Lillian Groag), a double-bill of Massenet's LE PORTRAIT de MANON and Poulenc's LA VOIX HUMAINE, and Benjamin Britten's DEATH IN VENICE, a new production to be sung in English by William Burden, David Pittsinger and John Gaston, among others.
