for March/April 2004 DANCE AT THE MUSIC CENTER LOS ANGELES -- The Music Center's first full dance season continues this spring with appearances by Shen Wei Dance Arts, Alvin Ailey Dance Theater and American Ballet Theatre. The season, the first in the Center's 39-year history, commenced last winter with appearances by San Francisco Ballet and Dance Theatre of Harlem. In recent
years, the Music Center has presented only intermittent concerts by such
companies as Pilobolus, Diavolo and the Joffrey Ballet of Chicago. But
with the Los Angeles Philharmonic moving next door into Disney Hall, the
Dorothy Chandler Pavilion has been freed up for more opera and dance. |
