THE NUTCRACKER

COSTA MESA, CA -- The renowned Kiev Ballet of the National Opera of Ukraine will make its Orange County Performing Arts Center debut Dec. 13-18 with a traditional production of Tchaikovsky's THE NUTCRACKER.
       

     
Established in the 1860s, Kiev Ballet quickly secured its reputation for awe-inspiring dance. Tchaikovsky himself considered the company the equal of those in Moscow and St. Petersburg, and it performed many of his ballets.

Over the years large numbers of the world's current leading dancers have emerged from Kiev Ballet, including Alina Cojocaru (Royal Ballet) and Irina Dvorovenko (American Ballet Theatre).
