DROUGHT AND RAIN and RE-TRIPTYCH

The final two dance attractions at the Edinburgh International Festival will take place in September. French Vietnamese choreographer, lighting & set designer Ea Sola will introduce DROUGHT AND RAIN, which celebrates historical and cultural memory and meditates on the human cost of war and imperialism. First launched in 1985, the ballet offers deep insights into the tumultuous history and sufferings of Viet Nam. The music is by Xuan Son, lyrics by Nguyen Duy. The venue is the King's Theatre.

RE-TRIPTYCH, choreographed by New York-based Shen Wei, was inspired by Tibet, Angkor Wat and China's Silk Road. Three different stories of spiritual and geographical homecoming are explored by Wei's company and the music of John Tavener and David Lang. (At the Edinburgh Playhouse).
