DON QUIXOTE OF THE TROCADERO
EDINBURGH, SCOTLAND -- Choreographer Jose Montalvo returns to the Edinburgh
International Festival with DON QUIXOTE OF THE TROCADERO, a new show that
blends farce, burlesque, commedia dell'arte and modern dance in its retelling
of Cervantes' Don Quixote. Performances in Festival Hall are August 29-31
at 7.30 pm.
Working with the comic actor Parice Thibaud and videographers Pascal Minet
and Sylvain Decay, Montalvo has placed Don Quixote in the modern dancehalls
of Europe, making for an unexpected, surreal and intriguing take on Cervantes'
classic novel.
Montalvo's last Festival appearance was in 2007, with On
Danse.
