L.A. DANCE PROJECT
Following on his success as choreographer and star of Darren Aronofsky's award-winning film Black Spring, Benjamin Millepied will bring his new company to the Edinburgh International Festival for the first time, with a three-part program whose umbrella title is L.A. DANCE PROJECT. It will take place in Edinburgh Playhouse, August 24-26, 2013.
QUINTETT, choreographed by William Forsythe, is set to Gavin Bryars's emotional and elegaic Jesus' Blood Never Failed Me Yet. The dance is based on a heartfelt love letter the composer wrote to his wife just before she died.
WINTERBRANCH, choreographed by Merce Cunningham, is a dramatic ensemble piece featuring decor and costumes by Robert Rauschenberg.
MOVING PARTS, choreographed by Millepied, is a new work by the group's founding artistic director.
