ASPEN SANTA FE BALLET
Aspen Santa Fe Ballet will kick off its 20th anniversary season on April
16 with a program of modern dance entitled CERRUDO, MELO & SOTO at
Valley Performing Arts Center, Cal State University, Northridge.
Aspen Santa Fe Ballet, which has just begun a three-year residency at
Cal State, has been described by the New York Times as a breath
of fresh air...a company that stands out as a model of what a small ballet
company should be with its musicality, athleticism, and technique-conscious
delivery.
The recital at Cal State will include two new company commissions: Re
Play by the Brazilian choreographer Fernando
Melo, and Huma Roja by Cayetano Soto (his third work for ASFB). A third
work, Silent Ghost by Alejandro Cerrudo, completes the program.
