Classical Music News for January/February 2019

Los Angeles Master Chorale will present the world premiere of Eric Whitacre's THE SACRED VEIL at Disney Hall on Feb. 16 and 17. Whitacre will conduct forty singers, instrumentalists and soloists in this new choral work whose libretto was composed by poet Charles Anthony Silvestri.

Whitacre, the Master Chorale's Sawn Family Artist-in-Residence, has created a powerful score for Silvestri's heartfelt poetry exploring the thin line between love and loss. THE SACRED VEIL includes "I Fall," memorably performed by the Master Chorale in June 2017, and now expanded into a full concert work.
