THE FAURE REQUIEUM
Los Angeles Master Chorale will present Gabriel Faures THE FAURE
REQUIEM on March 28 & 29 at Walt Disney Concert Hall, 135 N. Grand
St., LA, CA, 90012. Jenny Wong conducts the Chorale, which will be comprised
of 62 voices, chamber orchestra, and Kiku Day on the shakuhachi.
Faures REQUIEM stands apart from other works in the genre by expressing
an intimate, comforting, and ultimately peaceful view of death and the
deliverance it can offer.
Also on the bill are Frank Martins Mass for Double Choir
and Roxanna Panufniks Zen Love Song, from Wild Ways.

FIATO AND AVALON STRING QUARTETS
The Music
Guild, now in its 75th season, has announced that the Piano Trio Celeste
and Piano Trio Tuscany will give Los Angeles recitals this March and April,
respectively.
Piano Trio Celeste will perform works by Beethoven, Mendelssohn and Tchaikovsky,
March 2-4 at 8pm.
Piano Trio Tuscany will perform works by Beethoven and Mozart, April 20-22
at 8pm.
The Music Guilds concerts take place on consecutive nights at three
different venues: University Synagogue, Brentwood; Daniel Recital Hall,
Cal State Long Beach; and Adat Ari El Temple, N. Hollywood.
Complimentary coffee and pastries are served on Monday and Wednesdays,
7.30 to 8pm, and at intermission.
