ALONZO KING LINES BALLET
The Alonzo King LINES Ballet company (with special guest Tiler Peck) will
perform “The Personal Element” from July 14-18 in the Jerry
Moss Plaza at the Music Center. It’s the final attraction in the
Music Center’s “Dance at Dusk” series. Tickets are available
at musiccenter.org/linesballet.
Choreographed by King in 2019 with music composed by jazz composer and
pianist Jason Moran, “The Personal Element” affords eight dancers
the chance to show off their personal prowess.
You can also watch “The Personal Element” from the comfort of
your own home. The ballet will be streamed on July 18 from Jerry Moss
Plaza at 7.30 pm PDT.
On July 11
at 4 pm PDT, the Music Center will present “Inside Look: A Conversation
with Alonzo King and Maurine Knighton. The free Zoom panel will feature
a 40-minute conversation between King, company founder of Alonzo King
LINES Ballet, and Knighton, program director for the Doris Duke Charitable
Foundation and one of the premiere supporters of contemporary dance in
the USA.
